Vote in breast cancer PSA contest
The Dayton Breast Cancer Foundation and the Breast Cancer Task Force of Dayton, with the support of CARE Walk, have hosted a video contest to get the word out about the importance of mammograms and the free services the Breast Cancer Foundation offers to the underserved in Dayton. We invite you to watch the public service announcements submitted by local high school students.
The PSAs will be judged by a panel, and part of the scoring has to do with how many hits each video receives. So if you like one of the videos more than the others, click on it a second time. You can view and vote as often as you like. Online voting ends May 4th.
All PSAs are under three minutes long and most are closer to 1.5 minutes. Five Dayton area high schools (Centerville, Kettering, Miamisburg, Oakwood, and Stivers) participated, and each school will have a first and second place winner ($1,000 scholarship for first and $500 for second place). We will present the awards after CARE Walk on May 9th this year.
Thank you for your support of this awareness campaign about the importance of yearly mammograms in the fight against breast cancer. Until we find a cure or a vaccine, early detection is the number one way to stop this disease that affects 1 in 8 women each year.
