Tough challenge at Oakwood Invitational Front Row (L to R): Mason Kooser, Jack Kegelmeyer, Jack Cairney; The Junior High Wrestling team hosted the Oakwood Invitational this past Saturday in the pit. Competition was stronger than ever in this Dual style tournament. The Jacks started the day by edging out a tough Northmont team and then improving to 3-0 on the day by beating Mad River and eventual team champion Milton-Union. The afternoon proved to be a different story for the home team against the newly added Miami-Trace squad and the always-tough Eagles of Bellbrook. Our guys could not get the momentum back and lost both matches to limp home in fourth place. Oakwood crowned three tournament champions in Bo Powell (122 pounds), Alex Marquis (150 pounds), and Sam Stanley (205 pounds) and three bronze medalists in Mason Kooser (86 pounds), Jack Kegelmeyer (116 pounds), and Jack Cairney (160 pounds). The Junior High team will be traveling next Wednesday, Jan. 28 to face Kettering Middle School at 5 p.m.
