7 medalists at Oakwood dual meet Invitational

Last Saturday at the Pit was the scene of the six-wrestling-team Oakwood Invitational. The format was a dual meet team tournament. Oakwood defeated Northwest 54-18, lost to Alter 40-32, defeated Fenwick 66-18, lost to Stebbins 36-31 and to Northwestern 45-33.  

Alex Kooser, Paul Hochwalt and Brandon Bustillo earned first place medals. Danny Jacobs and Jake Horlacher placed second.  

Jameson Kordik and Daniel Kendig placed third. The Jacks are progressing well this year while wrestling an extremely tough schedule. The next match is at Carroll High School Jan. 5 at Carroll.

Junior grapplers place at meet

On Dec. 22, twelve wrestlers from Oakwood Jr. High School joined 13 area teams to compete in the Centerville Junior High Wrestling Tournament. OJHS wrestlers won several rounds to advance to the finals. Thomas Bustillo (92 pounds) and Max Breidenbach (142 pounds) received fourth place medals.
